Help!

MessageAuthor

Hi, Was looking for a topic on heater matrix replacement. Not the one by Chesh , but a similar one. Went through the same process but the poster went to a company who re-manufactured the matrix using the old end pieces.... Even mentioned Chesh's topic for help. Should be added to the articles I think... But I cannot, for the life of me, find it... I want the name of the company used to remake the matrix as my new one has a leak!!! I plan to get the original remade and fit it and return the new one for replacement. Nothing like having a spare, eh!!! Thanks. I have been checking and searching the 700/900 forum most of the morning without luck.. Maybe it was in the Club magazine as well?? Des. . . ;)

RE: Help!

That would be handy thing to find out. They cost so much from Volvo. I asked round a few radiator reconditioning places when I thought my one was leaking and most said they could do it but didn't have any in stock. Another possibility would be to fit an aftermarket matrix similar to an oil cooler and modify the heater box and pipes to suit. Why is it the matrix in non air con cars is more expensive then those that do ?

Morning. Two years ago this company re-cored the rad from my 144; whether they'll be able to help, who knows, but worth a bell I reckons. Riverside Radiators, 'Nant', Cwmpengraig, Drefach Felindre, Llandysul, SA44 9HY. Landline:- 01559 371 585. Good luck. C.A.

RE: Help!

I was just going to suggest checking the valve. The matrix has such a bad reputation I assumed it must be that. It was a bit of a relief when I found it was only the valve in the end.

RE: Help!

Hi, Can see one mentioned in Vad's as this car has AirCon. Pipes from the matrix go directly through the bulkhead and have the pipes from the engine connected to them... Des. . . ;)
