The First XC90 Chassis No?

MessageAuthor

Anyone know what the first chassis no that Volvo was for the XC90? I'm just wondering where mine came in the production output of the XC90. Thanks. Roy

Volvo first planned to make 50000 per year but due to the overwhelming demand for this brilliant vehicle of which every road test in the magazines raved about ,and 18 month waiting list they later doubled production ...

i asked the same question funnily enough and was told the same. all the test cars were to be crushed once finished with. shame really although they did take quite a hammering. and were LHD also :)

No not the xc90 i went to Millbrook on the S/V40 launch 1996 , there was a genuinly fully chromed show car which had been in press launch and TV adverts which went to the crusher too . Like the TWR 850 prototypes in effect the first R on a M registration plate . The fully chromed S40 show car could have been chrome painted but volvo chose to do it properly , it was stunning if rough at close quarters , they had to cut the roof off to get that chromed , and welded it back on again ..
