Reaper doesn't recall an items inline editor state .

MessageAuthor

Reaper doesn't recall an items inline editor state on project reload. Sorry if this isn't a bug but it seems to be a bit strange and rather frustrating :(

Yep I've moved the comments from the pre release forum to hear as it seems more apropreate . Did you say you think reaper used to recall these states?

Yes, i think it did as i had one song with a particular midi item set up to allow me to tweak a few controller lanes and i'm sure it was always open again and ready for editing.

Just for reference, another inline editor annoyance related to opening/closing:

The thing effectively preventing me from using it is that they are so very item based. Closing all in one swoop is one thing I also miss, but I'd need possibilities to sync the vertical zoom and scroll of all instances on a single track to want to use inline editing. CC lanes should also be syncable. I'd like to see some continuity across the track instead of lots of different zooms and keys. I just feel lost. The missing of some indication which octave I'm looking at doesn't exactly help.

Are these inline editor quirks already in the tracker ? If not, I'd suggest opening a ticket like "collected inline editor bugs". Or isn't that good practice, rather one ticket for one bug ?

I hope you don't mean have it like in pro tools where the whole track becomes a midi display from start to finish because i need and use the item based way a lot and wouldn't want to change this. As an option i'm up for everything but get a bit conservative on radical changes unless we can opt out :)

No, I didn't mean that, would be a step backwards indeed :). I'd just like some means to have them synced vertically and close them altogether. Also, it would only apply when takes and overlaps are not shown in lanes and FIPM is disabled. I think it should be kept simple. Jedstar, ReaScript didn't even occur to me. I'll definitely look into that as well :) Of course I am still rather short sighted, but it may prove a nice learning tour.
